The World of Sommeliers

It is with great pleasure that RPI Industries announces in September 2011, that Luis Mora has joined the company to enhance and grow the hospitality business for wine racking and wine cellar opportunities. The relationship with RPI is a natural fit from their backgrounds and knowledge of manufacturing wine merchandising systems, as well as refrigerated display cases for prepared foods, bakery and chocolate.

Luis Mora, sommelier and founder of Grotto Cellars had his first success with residential custom wine cellars in the late 1990’s.

Mora graduated from University California @ Irvine with a degree in Biological Science.  His passion for researching, science and continued education led him to the pursuit of wine knowledge. He gained invaluable experience while being engaged with establishments such as Morton’s of Chicago and The Patina Group.  It was here where he realized there was a huge need for wine storage education.  His researcher mentality meshing with his entrepreneurial spirit gave birth to Grotto Cellars. Grotto was the fastest growing wine rack organization in the market from 2000-2009.  Unfortunately in mid- 2010, due to some unforeseen economic issues; Grotto closed its doors.

By 2011, Mora emerged with strong provision supported by a nationwide dealer network that proved to strengthen the manufacturing operations.  Moreover, the Hospitality Division materialized to continue building world-class wine cellars.  Some of these cellars can be found in the Luxury Hotels & Luxury Resorts by The Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Luxury Hotels and Resorts by Fairmont and Kimpton Boutique Hotels to name a few.
